8 MISBEHAVIN’ is a dynamic and versatile ensemble consisting of 8 experienced musicians. Our focus is on big band music from the swing era, but includes other great dance tunes ranging from Latin jazz to more contemporary popular music. We are a great choice for your function or event; whether a relaxed cocktail party or fun-filled night of dancing! We can also provide a smaller group such as a trio during cocktails or dinner and then the full band later…just let us know what your requirements are.
Our instrumentation includes trumpet, three saxophones, keyboards, bass, drums and female vocals. Many of our musicians double on other instruments so don’t be surprised to hear some clarinet, guitar, flugelhorn, and flute during our performance.
Our repertoire is continually expanding and now consists of over 175 songs – each one professionally arranged especially for us by our alto sax player and expert arranger, Don Iacovelli.
We have been called “the little big band” by some of our fans. Although smaller in number, our in-house arranging allows us to play the same selections as larger bands at a much lower cost for our clients.
